A catalogue of books; being the library of the learned Dr. John Clerk, physician in Edinburgh; and of Dr. David Clear, his son: Consisting of a large and valuable collection of medical books, antient and modern; a fine collection of classics, of many various editions, and many excellent books of arts, sciences, the mathematics, and belles lettres; which will begin to be sold by auction, on Monday the 23d of January 1769, by William Gibb, at the auction-room below balfours Coffee-house. As the whole books are to be fold off, all of them will be entered at the pleasure of the company. Catalogues to be had at the Shops of A. Kincaid & J. Bell, W. Gordon, and W. Gibb, by whom commissions will be carefully executed for such gentlemen as cannot attend. (the time of sale from four to eight at night.)

A Catalogue of rare, valuable and curious books, manuscripts relating to Scotland, particularly to many of the most ancient families, medals, and near 4000 curious pamphlets relating to the times for the last 100 years; all collected with the greatest care by the late celebrated antiqurian Mr. Robert Miln Writes in Edinburgh. The auction begins on Tuesday March 22d, in that large fine room 2d door below Mr. Wilson's, vintner in the Writers-Court. The time of sale from five to eight at night. The books will be shown three days before the auction begins. Catalogues will be got from Mr. Alexander Murray at his house in Miln's land, and William Hamilton bookseller at the Cross. The entires will be very low.

A catalogue of Mons. Beauvais's collection of antique marble and brass figures, bustos, models, bass-relievos, vases, urns, and tables, in porphyry, oriental alabaster, &c. by him collected at Rome, Florence, Naples, and other parts of Italy. Which will be sold by auction, on Wedneday, February the 28th 1738-9; and the following days, at Mr. Cock's in the Great Piazza, Covent-Garden. As likewise divers matchless curiosities consign'd from vienna, particularly some large. Dishes, an ewer, &c. of silver gilt, set with most exquisite art and beauty, and in a most superb and magnificent taste, being ornamented all over the rubies, diamonds, emeralds, saphires, cameas, and intaglias, in onyxes, sardonyxes, cornelians, &c. by the most eminent Greek and Roman gravers, being the work and contrivance of the late famous Joannes Gillis of Antwerp, and by him esteem'd at six thousand pounds. Also several valuble jewels in seals, &c. a small cabinet of intaglias, a choice collection of medals in gold and silver some beautiful enamellings, several excellent pictures, and other curious effects. Lunn's catalogue for 1792. Comprehending an assemblage of many thousand valuable and useful books, in every branch of learning; particularly a very large and excellent collection of the Greek and Roman classics; the whole forming a general collection in various languages, of several thousand pounds value: likewise books of prints, antiquities, and portraits, capital prints by Woollet, Bartolozzi, &c. framed and glazed. Manuscripts and Roman missals, finely illuminated. The books are in fine condition, and in a variety of plain, elegant, and magnificent bindings; the prices are printed in the catalogue, and as useful marked in the first leaf of every book, and are now on sale, for ready money only, by W.
