Sacred declarations: Considered in Two letters to the Inhabitants of London, Westminster, and all other parts of Great Britain: proposing to their serious thoughts, a summary of the divine laws comprehended in the Ten Commandments, and of the Divine Threatnings recorded in the Holy Scriptures, against the stubborn Transgressors of them; Threatnings of Punishments to be inflicted in this World, when the righteous God shall visit any City or Country, for the Sins of its Inhabitants. Together with, An Account of a sure Way to Safety, Comfort, and Happiness. Search the Scriptures, John v. 39. Seek ye out of the Book of the Lord, and read, Isa. xxxiv. 16. Hear the Word of the Lord, ye Children of Israel: for the Lord hath a Controversy with the Inhabitants of the Land, Hos. iv. 1. Because they regard not the Works of the Lord, nor the Operations of his Hands, he shall destroy them and not build them up. Psal. xxviii. 5. Published as a Means to promote Repentance, and Reformation, and to administer Consolation to all serious Christians, in Times of common Calamity. A Book always proper to be in every Family, and its Contents of the utmost Importance to be known unto, and considered by, all Sorts of People.

Containing a Description both of the Distinct and Confluent Kind; when they proceed regularly; and of the curative Indications in every Period; and of the Methods of managing variolous Patients, as to Heat, and Cold; Clothing, and Diet; Medicines, &c. Also an Account of the incidental Symptoms, as to their Causes and Effects, and the Indications of Cure, and the proper Remedies in reference to each of them. A compendium of the practice of physick: or the heads of a system of Practical Physick, Contained in Twenty-Four lectures On the following plan, viz. That Diseases are produced, either, 1. by an Excess in the Quantity of the animal Fluids. Or, 2. by a wrong Quality. Or, 3. by a Deficiency in them; singly, or in some Combination. And therefore I. That Diseases produced by Excess are to be cured by proper Evacuation: And II. Those, which arise from a wrong Quality by alterative Medicines. III. That Distempers resulting from Deficiencies are to be healed by Restoratives. And IV. That Diseases, which are the Effects of combined Causes, are to be removed by combined Remedies. Together with An Account of the Principles, or Rules of Practice recommended in the Lectures; and of Things to be avoided, as prejudicial to the Sick. Whereunto is added, A Letter, shewing what is the proper Preparation of Persons for Inoculation, and for having the Small Pox favourably in the natural Way; and that there are Medicines, which have proved effectual to preserve Persons from the Distemper, tho they had much of the Infection at the Time of their taking them. Published, not only for the Use of those Gentlemen, who may attend the Lectures, but for the Advantage of any, who practice Physick; and also of those, who would not be mismanaged in the Time of Sickness. President of the Royal Society of London, &c. read at several Meetings of the Royal Society in the Years 1743, 1744. Wherein the principal Ways by which the Infection of the Plague, or any other contagious Fever, may be conveyed to human Bodies, are carefully considered; and proper Means of Safety from it are proposed. Part II. Letters to *****. Containing general rules for a suitable management, when that sickness shall be brought into any city, army, or navy; and proper Preservatives from it. Likewise an Account of Events predicted in the Word of God, and to be expected in the Time of a Pestilence, &c. And a letter to John Milner, Esq. containing an Account of the Nature of the Cause which produced the contagious Distemper among the Cattle in 1714, with Rules to Farmers for Management, and suitable Remedies, when such Contagion shall be among their Herds. And a Method proposed for finding out the Quality of the Cause producing the epidemical Diseases now among the Cattle in Great Britain, and foreign Countries, and the proper Medicines for Curing them.
