<p>Onwards to Victory, 1953. Fund-raising appeal film which attempts to build on the metaphor of science and technology's contribution to Britain's victory over Nazi Germany during World War II to persuade the public to give generously in support of the campaign to defeat the peacetime menace of cancer. Illustrated with newsreel footage of the London Blitz, the Battle of Britain, etc., fund-raising appeal posters and members of the public making donations to the British Empire Cancer Campaign in Trafalgar Square, under the watchful gaze of the lions. </p>
