About this work

Description

Examines the causes of the quiet classroom revolution which is producing well-motivated, high-achieving girl students while boys are left increasingly far behind. Panorama talks to teachers, employers and educational researchers, looks at children in the classroom and at home, and studies the differential attitudes of parents to boys and girls. It analyses the social reasons for girls' superiority in communication skills and concludes with the findings of Prof. Denis and Victoria Molfese (University of South Illinois), that girls have a headstart in learning because they are born with more mature brainwaves and the ability to link words and objects at an earlier age than boys.
