Notes

Benjamin Sutherland comes from Chesterfield. He works for the BBC World Service online and talks about the love for his work and different stories he has covered and situations he has found himself in (Bangladesh in the middle of a cyclone that hit and destroyed the lives of 10,000+ people, India during the elections, America before Obama's election). He talks about the impact his work has on his life. He also talks about charity work that he does every summer and has done for the past 11 years, working on a holiday camp giving young children the opportunity to go on holiday. He's also done a stand-up comedy course but not pursuing it professionally however he does send some of his spare time putting together and hosting pub quizzes, which is what he will be doing on the plinth.
