Description
Chain gave the opening address, on 'The Semi-Synthetic Penicillins', and the conference proceedings were published. During his visit he also visited Kenya, Uganda, and other medical research centres in South Africa, and spoke on 'Science in Israel' to the Israeli United Appeal Group in Johannesburg.
