Bible. N.T. Matthew 16.18-19, with the quotation "Feed my sheep" from John 21.17, or "Feed my lambs" from John 21.15. Saint Peter bends down and kisses the wound in the right hand of Jesus Christ in which he holds the keys; with the other hand, showing the wound of crucifixion, Christ points to some lambs or sheep; this refers to Christ's instruction to Peter, following the resurrection, to feed his flock
