Description
Order books, rather than formula books, recording details of products despatched to customers and overseas branches. Includes column for special formula number. Probably created by the Stock Section.
Special formulae were bespoke formulae requested by doctors which Burroughs Wellcome & Co would make up under one of their existing brands such as Tabloid or Soloid. Where a formula similar to an existing product was requested, Burroughs Wellcome & Co would recommend that. Twice a month, Burroughs Wellcome & Co head office would be informed of the details of these requests. This system appears to break down towards the end of 1942 and after that head office is informed every two to four months.
