Fred Barnes (1885-1938) was a very popular entertainer on the Edwardian music-hall stage. His openness about his homosexuality resulted in numerous scandals, which, combined with alcoholism, contributed to the end of his career and early death. The item catalogued was signed by him at the height of his popularity circa 1912
