Assorted reels.

These three related films have been compiled onto one reel for convenience. The first film has two sets of opening intertitles which suggests that it is a composite film; the first title is very faded and is 'Bone-grafting in the Treatment of Fractures' by J. R. Armstrong (1943/4). The sequences of bone grafting to the spine are in black and white and then the x-rays and the graft taken from the tibia is in colour. The second film 'Intrapelvic Tumour of the Innominate Bone treated by the Hindquarter Amputation Operation by Sir G. Gordon-Taylor' is colour and shows the male patient operatively and then post operatively using a splint to walk (possibly early 1950s). The third film, 'A Clinical Orthopaedic Film from the Orthopaedic Unit, South West Wales' is a case of congenital dislocation of the hip in an infant girl. The film is black and white and shows how the hips are rotated and then put in a plaster cast (the girl's legs are completely splayed open and she is naked from the waist downwards). Ease of care is illustrated as well as her somewhat cheerful demeanour despite the circumstances (possibly 1940s).
