About this work

Description

Comprising a mixture of mainly black and white negatives and photographs relating to Yakusu and the Yalisombo leper colony. Most are labelled either on the photograph itself or the sleeve, or on both. Many are dated. The majority are in sleeves, although not all. They have been grouped in small envelopes and labelled with a subject/place, etc., prior to transfer to the Wellcome Library. There follows a summary of the images and the covering dates. There may be duplicates in other parts of the collection. Opening of Yakusu Church, 1937
