Description

Collection of alchemical receipts and processes: On the first leaf a large U in red, headings underlined in red: illustrated with numerous small water-colour drawings of alchemical apparatus, etc. The text begins: 'Uer merckt die khunst/der arbaitten will der/sol sein haymblich...' On the last leaf is a table of alchemical and chemical signs.

Physical description

1 volume 86 [88] ll. 4to. 21 x 151/2 cm. Vellum covers with flap from fragmentary leaves of a 14th cent. Latin Bible, upper cover wanting. Ff. 55 and 64 wanting. The original foliation, 1-80 with 7 unnumbered leaves is inaccurate, as the leaf after fol. 29 was dropped in the numbering.
