Description
An Act of Indemnity was passed censuring Lord Durham for acting unlawfully while Governor-General of Canada, forcing his return to Britain, the matter being brought by Lord Brougham. A "court plaister" is offered by Lord Melbourne while a "poor-man's plaister" is offered by Sir William Molesworth. Also present are Lord Monteagle, with his hands in his pockets, Lord Glenelg, Lord Howick, the Duke of Wellington and Sir Robert Peel
