From accompanying notes: Relating to 'This involves first the mobilisation of the ascending and transverse colons from the posterior abdominal wall. The ascending, and part of the transverse colons are then removed in one piece together with the appropriate area of mesentery and the lympathic glands. Continuity of the bowel is restored by joining the terminal part of the ileum to the transverse colon.'
