About this work

Description

This hard-hitting film looks at the work of the 86th Combat Support Hospital (CSH), the Army's major medical facility in Iraq located in Baghdad's Green Zone at a hospital formerly reserved for Saddam Hussein's supporters. We see the work of the Medevac Technical Operations Centre as they work to rescue wounded soldiers, usually the victims of improvised explosive devises (IEDs). It is an unflinching look at this world with graphic footage of injuries and emergency surgery, particularly amputation surgery, as well as depictions of the soldiers' emotional trauma following serious incidents and what happens when a soldier dies.
