About this work

Description

In order to show different treatments of depression (from anti-depressants to ECT) this film uses four fictional case histories of adults with depression with a narrative voice-over describing the nature of depression rather poetically. The film ends with an appeal to general practitioners to recognise the condition as a real illness that needs treatment and that needs to be taken seriously. The film also includes shots of the Embankment and other London landmarks.
