About this work

Description

NCT Library Bulletin (later, Current Awareness bulletin). Produced by the NCT Library and Information Service to highlight recently published and acquired articles and books of relevance to NCT, including a summary description of the journal/article/book, and sometimes photocopies of relevant press cuttings and articles. The bulletin sometimes also provided recent parliamentary questions relevant to NCT, abstracts of journal articles, and other material received by the Library such as pamplets, reports, audio visual material, etc, as well as LIS news and highlights. The aim of the bulletin was to keep NCT key workers informed and up to date with the latest developments and discussions surrounding pregnancy and maternity care.

Between 1982 and 1983, three NCT Library Bulletins were published, nos.1-3; these did not include summaries of new literature, but instead contained a list of articles recently acquired by NCT Library, ordered by subject area.

Following the three bulletins published in 1982-1983, the Bulletin was then issued from 1985, until October 1989, when the bulletin was renamed NCT Library Current Awareness Bulletin; From the Jul/Aug 1990 issue, the bulletin was titled NCT Current Awareness Bulletin, with the subtitle: "for NCT keyworkers to act on and disseminate". The bulletin was compiled around 10 times a year and circulated to members of national committees, Council and specialist committees.
