<p>"The subject of this etching is the harrassment of a beautiful woman by grotesque, deformed, bird-like creatures representing desire, temptation and deceit. The Prado manuscript points out, "She who wants to be caught never escapes". The other commentaries refer to the scene as Godoy, the Prime Minister, pursuing "Duten" or "Dutim". The latter may be a code name for Queen Maria Luisa"--Pérez-Sanchez and Gállego, loc. cit.</p>
