Description
The second in a three-part series in which Dr Alice Roberts attempts to look back at the evolution of our bodies. This part focuses on the guts and changes in diet over our development as a species. Roberts shows how tape worms in our guts show that we were eating big game, such as lions, 1.7 million years ago. We also see that our teeth have evolved to shear through meat. A tribe in Tanzania are used to demonstrate how starch is also an important part of our basic diet.
