Description
Collection of incomplete student's notes of lectures on midwifery, pathology, physiology, by anonymous lecturers. At the end are notes of the physiological section of Dr. William Saunders' 'Lectures on the theory and practice of physic'. By several hands.
Contents:
(1) Lecture on midwifery (162 ll.).
(2) Lecture on pathology (71 pp. + 2 bl. ll.).
(3) Lecture on physiology (84 pp.).
(4) Saunders (W.). Lectures on the Theory and Practice of Physic: Physiological section (41 ll.).
This volume is bound uniformly with the four volumes of Henry Cline's lectures [MSS. Nos. 1673-1676], and the two volumes of William Lowder's lectures [MSS. Nos. 3333, 3334]. The first and last parts of this MS. also seem to have been written by the same hand as that of the six MSS. mentioned.

1 volume 162 ll. (last 2 bl.). + 76 pp. + 84 pp. + 41 ll. + 13 bl. ll. 4to. 21 1/2 × 16 1/2 cm. Original quarter-calf-gilt binding. Some of the leaves seem to have been bound in wrong order. Partly written on the versos only.

Purchased 1924.
Biographical note
William Saunders [1743-1817] was elected physician to Guy's Hospital London in 1770, and resigned in 1802.
