Description

Papers relating to activities and publications of AISL including the International Albert Schweitzer Symposium in Cambridge, Sep 1983, and the International Session on the Life and Work of Albert Schweitzer, Cracow, Poland, Oct 1985, plus various publications and other papers relating to the life and work of Schweitzer (perhaps collected by Browne in the course of his involvement in the organisation and as research for addresses and articles). Schweitzer's famous hospital was in Lambaréné, Gabon.

The aim of AISL is to disseminate information about the life and the thought of Albert Schweitzer and to maintain his legacy. A number of friends and national fellowships are integrated in the AISL. They include the Hospital Fund UK, the American Fellowship, Swiss Fellowship.
