About this work

Description

This short film looks at the introduction of hygiene to a Kenyan village and the impact cleanliness can have on health. We see, among other things, a sick man goes to hospital; children and other patients are shown being looked at by a white doctor. Doctors take blood tests and give medicine and cured patients visit a dispensary and go home. A boy urinates in water and a woman takes the water from the river. Elsewhere a man excretes in the village compound, the returning patient walks in the excrement and tells the villager to clean up the mess. He also tells the village head. We see a woman cooking in a clean environment and how the men and children wash their hands to eat.
