The author obtained his M.D. at Cambridge in 1894, and was elected F.R.C.P. in 1903. He practised at Exeter and for many years was physician to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. He played a prominent part in obtaining improvements in the training and status of the R.A.M.C. at the turn of the century. [Cf. B.M.J. 1929, ii, pp. 698, 699].
