About this work

Description

Two typescript texts of Alexander Rich and Crick (1957), "The structure of collagen," published in G Stainsby (ed.), Recent Advances in Gelatin and Glue Research (London, 1957), 20-24.

In 1956, the Gelatin and Glue Research Association of Great Britain held a conference on recent advances in gelatin and glue research, for which Rich and Crick wrote a paper outlining their structure, in which they argued on experimental and stereochemical grounds that collagen II was the correct model, not collagen I.

The file includes a letter (4 October, 1956) from Rich to Crick, beginning "Alas, as you have heard from Freddie, I'll not make the meeting in London...."
