Description

"The Most Approved Toilet": a calligraphic copy of a printed work, illustrated with wash-drawings, each with a moveable flap, of toilet articles, etc., and an ornamental title-page. Each illustration has written beneath the flap, the name of an appropriate virtue: e.g. beneath a picture of a pomade pot headed 'Fine lip salve', the word 'Cheerfulness.' New Brunswick: Missionary Society of the Protestant Episcopal Church, 1828. Inscribed inside the upper cover: 'Minnie Poole from dear Grandmama. Feb. 12th, 1860.'
