About this work

Description

Black leather-bound volume containing summary sales figures for London and overseas.

Loosely inserted inside front cover, there is a memorandum (13 December, 1922) referring to fluctuating exchange rates, the last paragraph of which reads: "During the present year 1922/23 it looks as though the present method of converting currency sales to sterling will give a total in the Sales Book in excess of the real sterling value of the sales just as in 1919/20 and 1920/21 the sterling sales were rather understated. This fact should be borne in mind as at the end of 1922/23 it might be thought desirable to adjust the sales figures in the Sales Book. Of course if the Italian exchange improves rapidly, the necessity will not arise."
