About this work

Description

Promotional leaflet or magazine insert for Vim scouring powder, possibly from the 1920s. The front has a colour illustration of a young girl cleaning her dolls' house. A young, red-haired boy is handing her a "sifter-top canister" of Vim. There is a picture of the Vim trademark little man (lepracaun?) with a large bow round his neck and a stove pipe hat made from a Vim canister. The detergent is "unsurpassed" for polishing metalware, scrubbing tables, tiles and woodwork and scouring cooking utensils. This is number 38 in a series of advertisements.
