Description

Black and white photograph of the larynx, trachea and thyroid gland, from a case of parenchymatous goitre, showing the manner in which goitre most frequently causes dyspnoea. The trachea is narrowed laterally at a point situated an inch below the cricoid cartilage. The relations to the tumour of the enlarged inferior thyroid arteries are also seen. From a boy aged 14 who died from dyspnoea produced by the goitre.
