Biographical note
Dr Mary Barton was a British obstetrician who, in the 1930s, founded one of the first fertility clinics to offer donor insemination.
Dr Bernard Sandler (1907–1997) established his infertility clinic in Manchester Jewish Hospital in 1947 and practised AID (tretment performed using anonymos donor) from 1948.
