Biographical note

The Coat of Arms of Dr James Crichton, incorporating those of Crichton and Grierson and with the motto 'God Send Grace' was used as the hospital Coat of Arms and Common Seal from 1840 to 1933. In 1933 it was altered, but retained the motto.
