About this work

Description

Ground trailing plant with almost circular leaves. Flowers are spurred, yellow with green leaves. Originally from Peru. Have been used as a remedy for scurvy because of their high vitamin C and iron content. Also used as a tonic to purify the blood and digestive system. In salads, the flowers and leaves have a strong, peppery taste reminiscent of water cress.
