On page 264 is the following note: "This very excellent paper on ye. pulse was written by ye late Mr. Charles Darwin of Litchfield, Studt. of Medicine here, who died about a month after it was read in ye. Society most justly regretted by every well wisher to Medical Inquiry as a young man of ye. most promising Talents, & extensive knowledge both in Medicine & in sevl. oyr. branches of Science-He died May 15th 1778 of a fever."
