About this work

Description

Possibly a magazine insert advertising Lifebuoy soap. It depicts a boat leaving a dockside, two women on board waving handkerchiefs and a man in uniform reaching through a lifebelt to take a pack of Lifebuoy soap from a smart woman in a long, red dress. A man in a black suit stands behind her. An urban quayside scene is behind them with sailing ships and a pale yellow sky. The reverse, titled 'Dangers of the deep' tells about Lifebuoy as "a powerful disinfectant and antiseptic".
