About this work

Description

Collection of medical receipts: in Latin. Some headings in red. A foliation in pencil has been added. The date 1534 appears on fol. 4, and on fol. 87v is a receipt for an electuary for epilepsy dated 7 april 1536. On the first leaf are notes of weights and measures in German for the year 1507. The spine is lettered 'Chymica manuscripta'. Ff. 4-20, 262-273 contain remedies for 'Morbus Gallicus'. The fly-leaf is inscribed on the verso 'Sum mei Johan Steinbach' by a contemporary, but probably different hand from that of the text.
