About this work

Description

The first in a series of four programmes which look at the effect on families who have an inherited genetic disease. The Gorry Family carry a potentially fatal genetic condition called Long-QT Syndrome. This syndrome, also known as Sudden Death Syndrome, can be treated by the use of Beta Blockers. The problem for the family is that not all members realize that they carry the faulty gene. The programme follows the family as they attempt to find out more about the illness and cope with the knowledge that the deaths of past family members could have been prevented.
