Papers relating to Stanley Browne's departure from the Congo in 1958, including some final accounts; correspondence with the BMS concerning tax, National Insurance and other financial matters; letter dated 21 Oct 1959, from Cyril Elsey to Stanley and Mali concerning their departure from Congo; leaflet entitled 'The Yakusu Affair' Jan 1960 describing Browne's reasons for resigning from Yakusu and the BMS in 1959, for submission to the General Committee and Congo missionaries; letter from Rev A G Mill to Browne, Sep 1961; part of a copy of a letter [from Browne] to Bandombele, dated 7 Oct 1961, concerning his treatment by the BMS officials in Congo (described as "appallingly distasteful"); newspaper cuttings concerning the political situation in Congo, 1960. Plus letter from Brian Stanley, Spurgeon's College, 15 Feb 1989, to Mali Browne concerning inclusion of the "unhappy events" of the 1950s in his "history".
