Isaac Habrecht Scaphusianus Helvetius anno aetatis Christi 1608, suae 64. Argyropum automati inventor fabricator et autor / Im[m]ortale Habrecht nomen Isacus habet. English translation of the lettering: Isaac Habrecht of Schaffhausen in Switzerland, in the year 1608 of the age of Christ, the year 64 of his own age. Designer, maker and author of the automaton at Strassburg, Isaac Habrecht has an immortal name.
