This material was all stored together under the title heading 'Hospital research'. Material actually comprises a variety of files and has been arranged into seven separate parts:

44/1 In an envelope labelled 'hospital research' - manuscript patient notes, lists of names; of children who have been in hospital on one or more occasions, c.1951-1961.

44/2 Folder labelled 'training course and lecture notes', containing 'Report on the three year training course at the Institute of Child Psychology', Mar 1964, prospectus for the three year training course at the ICP, manuscript and typed notes on various topic notably Children's Diseases Mortality and Morbidity in Childhood (Dr Davis 1959) and Epilepsy. reprint of an article from the Bulletin Jan 1956 'The training of child psychoterapists at the Institute of child psychology' by Margaret Lowenfeld.

44/3 Envelope labelled FHR and PMT papers. Correspondence of Frances H. Rowles, ICP, with the Joint Editor The Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry relating to articles submitted to the journal, 1964-1965 PMT was Phyllis M. Traill.

44/4 Envelope labelled 'Study Group'. Papers mainly generated by a Study Group of the UK Committee of the World Federation for Mental Health, convened by the ICP, to the study the causes of damaging stress in children in particular hospitalization, bereavement, and the one-parent family, including minutes, reports to the WFMH, and other related papers. 1963-1965 (F. Rowles set of papers?).

44/5 Envelope labelled 'Mr Painter correspondence and notes' containing Frances H. Rowles correspondence with a Mr P. I. Painter relating to a manuscript he has written entitled 'Images of Power' (magic, cults, symbols, rituals, etc.) and the 'manuscript'. 1965 (a filled notebook).

44/6 Envelope labelled 'Papers, booklets, original drawings for booklet', containing various key booklets and papers by Margaret Lowenfeld and by Frances H. Rowles and booklet of instructions on the use of Lowenfeld Kaleidoblocs Test and on the Lowenfeld World Technique and literature of the ICP, plus one paper by Mrs M. Livesey and some drawings for a publication. 1930s-1960s.

44/7 Book Philips' Anatomical Model of the Female Human Body' edited by William S. Furneaux (London, George Philip & Son) with diagrams that have multiple cut outs and fold outs, with some manuscript annotations to the text. And a poster of the male and female pelvic organs (John Bale Sons & Danielsson Ltd anatomical lecture diagrams. Both probably used for teaching purposes for the child patients at the ICP.
