Main materials: Felt (Body), Cotton (Bias binding = Scarf), Plastic (Eyes), Polyester (Whiskers).
"Context: In September 2021, I had the opportunity to attend The Folklore Society conference The Sky in Legend and Tradition at the Medieval Hall in Salisbury and sell some of my comic books at The Folklore Podcast stall set up on the site. I used to be a volunteer with the podcast, as I have a blog about folklore myself, where I discuss the potential of superstitions to improve mental health and wellbeing. The mascot of this blog is a black cat called Superstition Sam (https://superstitionsam.com/links/), and I created a charm version of him to share at the conference which was inspired by the photo of a protective amulet in the shape of a black cat in the Wellcome Collection catalogue itself (https://wellcomecollection.org/works/upt9zm2f)."--text provided by Joana Varanda 22/02/2024
