About this work

Description

The second in a three-part series following children undergoing craniofacial surgery at the Oxford Craniofacial Unit. Seven-year-old Salina has Toulouse Lautrec syndrome (pycnodysostosis) and needs surgery to give her brain room to grow inside her skull. Six-month old Daisy faces similar surgery to expand her skull. Alfie was born with a cleft lip and palete. Harry has Moebius syndrome which causes facial paralysis - he can't smile and so feels left out of society. He has a muscle and a nerve transferred into his face. In all cases the surgical interventions are shown in detail.
