About this work

Description

General correspondence between the Director-in-Chief, WBSR and various members of BW&Co staff. The material in this section is of a very miscellaneous nature. It deals with some routine administrative matters such as staff, supplies, publications and equipment which illustrate the relationship between the Bureau and the Company at an administrative level. It also contains correspondence exchanging scientific information on drugs and treatments for various conditions including enquiries from the public. Some examples of this include: report of a discussion between one of the Company's travelling representatives and Sir Thomas Lewis about digitalis, Jun 1925; a letter and photographs re the treatment of Yaws, May 1928; a memo on malarial innoculations to treat GPI, Apr 1929.
