The following description was provided by Liz Atkin:
"In recent years I have more frequently been employed with organisations where there is a strong affiliation with art / drama for wellbeing. I have been employed for a number of years as a Speech Bubbles practitioner with primary age children with complex communication needs, I'm the lead artist on Confident Creators funded by Paul Hamlyn Foundation (Sudborne Primary) training primary school staff to teach art for resliance and wellbeing, working with pupils with disadvantage, I was an artist with Royal Central School of Speech and Drama - Performing Places with St Mungo's Homelessness charity which led to me being invlited to run several trms of drop in art classes for service users at the kitchen table in Adamson Road, I was Artist In Residence for two years with The Acorn Project with Stratford Circus providing Messy Play for disadvantaged families in Barking and Dagenham (Barking and Dagenham funded to continue independently and will work with families and Marks Gate for a further year), I'm a regular performer for Breathe Arts and Health Research creating my free 1-2-1 Compulsive Charcoal drawings for staff, visitors and patients in and around in Guys and St Thomas's - including the dematology department making a clear connection to my lived experiece of skin picking, also ran a drawing workshop / gave a talk for staff at Mental Healh Awareness Week at Tate Modern, Messy Play training packages for early years to suport creativity and wellbeing in children and families, World Mental Health Day 2019 concert / anxiety performance drawing with Mind and Soul Choir (NHS Maudsley) and Camberwell Community Choir, Chelsea Physic Garden talks and drawing workshops with substance abuse recovery group."
