Notes

Carol Courtney comes from Murston in Surrey. She is now retired but used to work in computer programming and lectured in IT. Now one of her pastimes is walking and she is part of a group called Walk for Health, which promotes the benefits of walking. She is one of their principal walk guides which she does on a voluntary basis. She has also spent recent years caring for her father who is now in a home. On the plinth she is reading a collection of poetry put together from suggestions/requests from friends and family, including choices of her own. Some of the poetry has been written by the people and some of it is well known. She will also have a bit of quiet time to take it all in.
