Description

"At Felden Lodge, Boxmoor, the home of Sir Richard and Lady Cooper, on Saturday last the directors, staff and employees of Messrs Wm Cooper and Nephews Ltd, of Berkhamsted and London, with their wives, gathered together, five hundred strong, to celebrate the Jubilee service in the Cooper organization of Lieut-Col S R Timson and Mr Charles Timson.... Lieut-Col S R Timson joined the firm in the year 1870, to-day he was one of the directors. Mr Charles joined the firm in the year 1874, to-day he was the managing director." The file includes biographical information, photographs of both Timsons, newspaper reports, and various items from the celebration, including an invitation, a luncheon menu signed by senior staff, several souvenir hankerchiefs (x 7, six of which rest in original sealed envelopes) with images of both Timsons imprinted, texts of congratulatory cables from around the world, and a balance sheet for the event.
