Leprosy: dermal nerve

Borderline tuberculoid (BT) leprosy: dermal nerve This is a high power view of a dermal nerve from a patient with BT. Within the nerve there is a granulomatous, macrophage infiltrate separating the Schwann cells. Immunostain for S100 (which stains Schwann cells brown).
