This Commission was set up in 1988-1989, both upon the recommendation of the Long Range Planning Committee and from pressure from pediatric epileptologists. Its mandate was to consult with national chapters as to priorities, gather information on all planned international work on pediatric epileptology, to gather information on projects on genetic survey and neurological studies and to collaborate with other ILAE commissions on pediatric-specific issues within their respective domains.
