Photocopy of 1850 letter in German from Semmelweis to his friend the physician Lajos Markusovszky (1815-1893), discussing personal matters and referring to mutual acquaintances (Sändor Lumniczer (1821-1892) and Jänos Balassa (1814-1868) (no. 1); plus typed transcript (no. 2), translations into Hungarian (no. 3) and English (no. 4), the latter with footnotes, announcement by the Vienna dealer Heck that the letter is for sale (no. 5) and Wellcome Historical Medical Museum memorandum (no. 6). Semmelweis letter 1850, photocopy undated. Supporting documentation.
