Description

False colour SEM image of a fruit fly (Drosophila melanogaster). This particular genus of fly is commonly used in scientific research, particularly in the field of developmental biology and genetics as they have very uniform eye, hair and wing patterns, which are often disrupted due to genetic mutations.
