About this work

Description

Correspondence between TRC Secretary and member companies concerning post-war activity. In particular, statements by member companies in accordance with Min. 403. The file includes statements by The British Drug Houses Ltd, Glaxo Laboratories Ltd, Boots Pure Drug Co Ltd, and May & Baker Ltd.

The position of The Wellcome Foundation Ltd is given in a letter (27 November, 1944) from T R G Bennett to H Jephcott: "Like all the other member-companies we have a large expansion programme and ... we do not think we shall be able any longer to arrange for the time of our research workers to be split between TRC and Foundation programmes if we are going to do proper justice to both" (p.2).

The file includes a summary (typescript, 3 sheets), prepared by the TRC Secretary, of the stated positions of Boots and The British Drug Houses.
