The four un-numbered leaves at the begining adn four of the un numbered leaves at the end, contain alchemical receipts and notes in Catalan, by Hiacinto Bertran of Barcelona. On the first leaf he has written 'A quest libre es de mi Hiacinto Bertran menor donzell domiciliat a la siutat de Barcelona ali primer de Januar de 1660'. On the penultimate leaf there is a note, dated 1696, by Bertran recording the death of two 'notaris at the town of S. Pedro. There are a few other alchemical receipts in Catalan by different 18th cenury hands.
